Patrice was raised on the Monterey Peninsula from the age of 6 until he was 17. He left the area during his junior year in high school to live up in the Bay area,. He moved to Big Sur in the mid-eighties where he met his mentor William Webb, a master writer and highly esteemed photographer. William Webb was a founding board member of Friends of Photography and a dear friend of Ansel Adams. Patrice and William hung out in the Darkroom and through great conversation over food and wine and photo journey’s, Bill Webb gave him confirmation, “You’re a photographer, man”.
