Born and raised in Carmel Valley, Joseph has never strayed far from home. He cut his teeth in kitchens of every kind, from small independent restaurants to corporate hotels and large-scale operations, before founding 831 Catering in 2018.
The company is his love letter to the Monterey Peninsula: menus are built around the harvest of one trusted organic farmer, paired with fish pulled straight from the bay and beef raised in Big Sur.
Joseph lives for the hospitality industry and the art of creating unforgettable events, and some of his favorite days are spent catering weddings along the Big Sur coast. When he’s not in the kitchen, you’ll likely find him cheering at one of his five kids’ games, camping by a lake, or strolling by the ocean, taking it all in.
