Chef Alex Suniga Is a Bay Area Local who is a first generation immigrant from the Philippines, navigating the diaspora of the Americas. Cooking is one passion that he does for a living, but nurturing people and creating spaces for conversation and comfortability is the highest passion and by doing one I he makes himself available to serve both. His passion for cooking developed through his young career working in various restaurants throughout the bay, learning the very classical euro standards in food techniques we all know, use, and love today. In his quest to understand and represent himself better not only a cook but as a Filipino person living in the diaspora, he says,” Cooking Filipino food is something that seemed right and came naturally”

Chef Alex uses the techniques he’s learned from modern american, and French kitchens and applies them to Filipino dishes that he’s been introduced to by his mother. This inbetween the not so traditional technique, but Filipino spirited essence, has become somewhat of a new experience altogether.
