Executive Chef, The Club at Pasadera
Monterey, California -

Chef Moody has taken over the reins at “The Club at Pasadera” in Monterey, Ca. Previously chef Moody was in charge of the Emerald and Platinum rated Monterey Peninsula Country Club, home of the AT&T National Pro-Am. Prior to that ten year-tenure, Moody was mentored by master Chef Roland Henin, then corporate chef for Delaware North Co, who has had mentored many famous chefs including Thomas Keller, Master Chef Ron DeSantis and many others. Moody was featured in his book “50 Years of Mentoring Great American Chefs”, with proceeds going to the Ment’or program for Americans competing in the Bocuse d’Or in France. Chef Henin also brought America Gold in the 1992 culinary Olympics.

Other posts for chef Moody include: Haig Point Country Club in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, the prestigious Highlands Inn's Pacific Edge restaurant, Chutney’s and Flaherty’s, both in Carmel, as well as The Greenhouse at the Farm in Santa Cruz.

Chef Moody is dedicated to following a progressive, environmentally sensitive approach to his menu development and has reached into the Monterey Bay area to foster relationships with local farmers and purveyors. His Moto is, “you are only as good as your last meal or service” he believes in staying humble and hungry for new experiences. He is the youngest of eight children with two working parents, as a result, he jokingly says, “if you didn’t cook, you didn’t survive!” He and his siblings cooked and experimented constantly in the kitchen…”it was just what we did for fun”, he states, along with dodging trains at the cliffs and living at the beach during the summers. He was born and raised in La Selva Beach, Ca. He is a proud father of two boys; Connor and Matthew.

Chef Moody feels humbled to have received many accolades, but of them all…being paid to play with food and working with other cooks in the kitchen are his favorites!
